Can we just turn off all lighting in studio, and freeze motion with flash only, using slower shutter speeds?

ha! high school level journalism. Digital took over the the consumer market or those who don’t know better, not those who actually take photographs. There are more advanced digital cameras but unless you are a photojournalist or sports photographer then you are a sucker for buying one of those quickly depreciating expensive and cheaply made systems. Applied photography on medium or large format is on another level…but of course this girl probably never even heard of such things.

@Claggy Here’s the trick. Do the same as you’ve been doing, but after you draw a shape click over to your Layers palette, you’ll see a new shape layer. In the shape layer you should see “Effects” and under effects you’ll see “Stroke”. Double click “Stroke” and you can change the width of the stroke. Any new shapes you draw will have the new stroke width. You can also save this as a new style for future use.
